Bringing Engineers Together
Creating a sense of belonging, releasing stress and inspiring people towards the future of the Fintech industry
THE CHALLENGE
Everyone at Visa works with one goal in mind, making sure that “Visa is the best way to pay and be paid, for everyone everywhere”. The new Head of Big Data and Digital Transformation at VISA Asia is leading the mobile banking experience evolution with a newly formed team fusion of two teams. This Leader wanted to increase the “startup mindset - try and fail fast” as well as increase the sense of belonging in the newly formed team with fun exercises.
THE OUTCOME
35 people enjoy our 2 hours “Geek Post It Creative Workshop” and competed through the creation of 7 Post-its Art pieces in the VISA offices inspired by Famous Robots.
THE STORY
We DID NOT just do Post-It Art. Art is for us a way to ensure people give themselves the authorisation to experiment, fail and try again.
What we DID was an experience to activate the body, the forward thinking mind and the creative spirit to increase the team cohesion. In our team building session, participants can experience first hand the power of their own imagination, individually and as a team.
We started our workshop with a movement activity, inspired by contemporary dance modalities where participants experience their space, their body and the distance and speed with other participants. It gave all of us a simple funny icebreaker that helped us sink in the next step of the workshop, the inspiring talk.
We followed with an inspiring talk to to help the team embrace the changes to come and understand better the evolution of the Fintech industry.
We reached our peak with a timed competition of Post-It art inspired by famous Robots! From Space Invaders to Iron Man, the team, divided in small groups, went all the way (and even climbed on tables…but shhhhht!) to create the most creative Post-it Office Art piece!
The winner? A magnificent Rollerblading R2D2 with neon yellow shoulder-pieces
The most surprising? Eve being eaten by a giant Pac-Man melting in a sea of burning lava (yes!)
We close the afternoon with birthday cakes, just because art and cakes go very well together and helped finalise the team building session on a happy note.
